Pallet Stabilisation Consultation Service

Allpack is Process Intelligent, meaning we use data and processes to help inform you of critical information to aid your business decisions. This can be applied to the shop floor where your operation teams are wrapping pallets ready for dispatch.

How do you know how well your pallets are being wrapped?

As we know hand wrapping is not an exact science, with two colleagues wrapping the same pallet in different ways, from the number of rotations, level of stretch applied and how they balance the wrap across the pallet, i.e. wrapping more heavily on the lower or central areas, but not the higher ones.

This can be the same for machine wrapped pallets, as how products are stacked on the pallets can and the type of outer cartons used can make for different wrapping requirements, but how would you know this…

Allpack applies the science of packaging to pallet wrapping

Allpack has invested in state-of-the-art pallet force measuring technology to optimise your pallet wrapping process by utilising the FEF-200: Film Edge Force. The FEF-200: Film Edge Force is a portable device that you can mount on any pallet before wrapping. During and after the wrapping process, the forces generated by the film on the corners of the pallet are measured to understand if there are any vulnerable points where the applied stretch film could break or snap during transportation.

The FEF-200 central unit controls 10 measurement cells, with each cell specifically measuring the forces generated on the corner of the stacked pallet, which after the test provides a user-friendly force pallet profile.

Our trained operators are skilled in examining the data provided to ascertain the optimal pallet force profile, which help prevent corner or side contractions, improve pallet stability and decrease potential transit issues.

The FEF-200 is adaptable to multiple pallet sizes, EU or UK, varying pallet heights and stacking configurations. By comparing different films and rotation settings we can build an optimal pallet profile that will enhance your pallet wrapping operations.

With all the measurements loaded into the user profile and available on the one screen makes it easy to compare the following:

  • Compare force profiles to control the settings of a winder
  • Compare different films and settings to optimise the process
  • Use the measurement data as input for strength calculations on primary and secondary packaging
  • Quality control to avoid pressing of primary and/or secondary packaging
