A Review of 2025: Milestones, Innovations and Sustainable Packaging in Motion

If 2025 has shown anything clearly, it is that packaging continues to sit at the centre of operational resilience, sustainability and customer expectations as time goes on. Over the past year, our focus has been on strengthening capability, launching practical solutions, and sharing insight that helps businesses make better packaging decisions in a changing market. Across the year, several themes consistently emerged, with the key highlights being reliability, responsibility, and readiness for what comes next.

Expanding capacity to support growing demand

One of the most significant developments of the year was the opening of a new Regional Distribution Centre in Stafford. Located just off the M6, this site has increased overall warehousing capacity while improving stock availability and delivery reliability across the Midlands and North. For customers, this means shorter lead times, improved consistency and less exposure to disruption caused by wider supply chain pressures.

The facility also supports more efficient transport planning and inventory management. That matters not just from a service perspective, but also from an environmental one, as fewer urgent deliveries and better stock positioning help reduce unnecessary mileage and emissions.

Industry events that shaped the conversation

Throughout 2025, we stayed closely connected to the wider packaging and logistics community by exhibiting at key industry events. Early in the year, Packaging Innovations and Empack 2025 provided an opportunity to discuss sustainable materials, compliance challenges and performance-led design with thousands of visitors. Conversations at the show made it clear that businesses are looking for packaging that balances environmental responsibility with real-world durability.

Later, IntraLogisteX shifted the focus toward warehouse efficiency and intralogistics. Demonstrations around pallet stability, wrapping solutions and void fill systems highlighted how packaging plays a direct role in throughput, handling safety and space optimisation.

In the middle of the year, we returned to exhibit at the Multimodal Exhibition at the NEC, where pallet wrapping automation, such as the Robopac S7 Automated Pallet Wrapping Robot, took centre stage, sparking some fruitful conversations surrounding the subject.

In Q3, the PPMA Total Show offered another chance to share practical solutions. Live demonstrations of pallet wrap technology, paper taping systems and eco-friendly void fill drew strong interest from manufacturers looking to reduce waste without compromising protection.

The end of the year concluded on a high note with an exhibition presence at the longstanding London Packaging Week, as well as a first-time appearance at the White Label World Expo 2025, which also took place at ExCeL, London.

Product launches with a clear purpose
.

Product development in 2025 was driven by specific operational and sustainability challenges raised by customers. In Q1, we launched the Enviromail™ Paper Bubble Bag range, offering a plastic-free alternative for mailing applications that still delivers cushioning and protection. Fully recyclable through kerbside collections, the range responds to growing pressure to remove plastic from secondary packaging without increasing damage rates.

Q2 saw further expansion of the PaintGuard™ Pulp Fitment range, with new rectangular formats designed to better secure paint tins and tubs in transit. These additions improve load stability, reduce movement within cartons, and support easier recycling at the end of life. Manufacturers and distributors get an added boost here, as this translates into fewer leaks, less waste and smoother handling across the supply chain.

Certifications that reinforce standards

Operational improvement in 2025 was also reflected in external accreditations. Achieving SMAS Worksafe and FORS Bronze certification further strengthened our position on health and safety compliance, fleet efficiency, and risk management. These standards are not box-ticking exercises. They directly support safer operations, better planning and more dependable service for customers operating in regulated or safety-critical environments.

Practical guidance beyond products
.  .

Alongside physical products, we invested time in sharing knowledge that helps customers navigate choice and complexity. Two detailed packaging guides were released during Q2, covering Bags and Mailing and Labels. These resources were created to support practical decision-making, from selecting the right materials to understanding performance trade-offs in different applications. For many businesses, access to clear, unbiased guidance can prevent costly mistakes and reduce unnecessary waste. Later in the year, we released our Packaging

Buyer’s Guide, helping businesses make better purchasing decisions and transition to packaging that scales with them and cuts on environmental cost without breaking the bank.

Investing in people and culture

Behind every product and delivery is a team. In Q3, the launch of the Employee Ambassador Committee reflected a continued commitment to internal engagement, wellbeing and communication. Strong internal culture plays a direct role in our service quality, responsiveness and problem-solving. It is an investment that benefits customers as much as it does the people delivering the work.

Moving on from 2025 into 2026

Taken together, 2025 has been a year defined by steady progress with the expanded distribution capacity, targeted product innovation, the increase of recognised standards, practical guidance and strong industry engagement all point toward the same goal: packaging solutions that perform reliably in real conditions while supporting sustainability and compliance.

As we move into 2026, the insights gathered from these developments will continue to shape how we support customers across manufacturing, logistics, ecommerce, and distribution.
